MARES emphasizes on the readiness of its members to be deployed during emergency situation. This is to ensure we have volunteers who are ready and are able to be deployed at moment noticed. We conduct regular trainings for volunteers, organisation and government agencies to equip them with the necessary knowledge as emergency communcation responder team.

Among our notable training are as follows:

  1. “Kursus Kecekapan Pengendalian Peralatan Komunikasi Wireless Operator Siri 4/2008” training
    to Malaysian Department of Fisheries at Pusat Latihan Perikanan Lumut (PULAPEL), Lumut, Perak
    on 14th Aug 2008.
  2. “Kelas Pengenalan ERT Peringkat -1” on 1st Feb 2009 to radio amateur in Temerloh, Pahang. The
    class which covers the basics of Emergency Response Team was a joined activity between Peramah Temerloh amateur radio club and MARES.
  3. Radio Amateur Examination (RAE) preparation class to Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya QRT Unit (Quick Response Team Unit) on 3rd & 4th Mar 2009 at Komplek 3C, MPSJ nearby Sunway Piramid.
  4. Radio Amateur Examination (RAE) preparation class to staff members of Cyber Security on 27th Mar and 3rd Apr 2010.
  5. Radio Amateur Examination (RAE) preparation class to candidates prior to each SKMM’s RAE (normally twice a year). The 2 days weekend class includes introduction to amateur radio, related guidelines and technical information related to amateur radio operation.
  6. Emergency Response Team (ERT) trainings to MARES members who signed up as MARES ERT members. These internal trainings are aimed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of MARES ERT when responding to emergency communication situation.
  7. Emergency Response Team (ERT) trainings to Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia Disaster Response Teams at all regions. These trainings were subsequent to Ops Murni (Kelantan Flood 2014) with the objective to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SKMM and Telco response to emergency communication situation.
  8. SMART Team Malaysia communication training in preparation for UN OOCHA Heavy Urban Search and Rescue certification. SMART Team received the Heavy USAR certification.
